The quality of education that is provided in this city is really of great worth and is one of the basic reasons of the excellence of people of this area. All the schools that are working in the district Surat are affiliated to the Gujarat secondary and higher secondary education board. The board ensures that the education that is provided by the schools is satisfactory and is meeting the demands of the modern era. Most of the rich people prefer to send their children to private educational institutes due to the better facilities that these schools can provide to these children. However, these schools charge much more fee as compared to the schools that are working under the government. These schools are easily affordable for the poor people. However, educational facilities are not enough in these schools.
Higher educational facilities are also available in this city. A well reputed college that is government engineering college is providing engineering education to the people of Surat. The college is offering modern facilities to the engineering students and has arranged the studies of more than one engineering faculties. This college is considered to be one of the most reputed colleges of the state and have become one of the landmarks of the area.
In addition to the engineering education, medical education is also provided to the people of Surat. There are two well reputed medical colleges of this area that have all the modern laboratories that are must for the trainee doctors. The medical institutes also have hospitals with them. Facilities for higher level studies are quite enough but for secondary and primary level, betterment is required. Overall, this district has good infrastructure of education for the people of this area.
